The District Sales Manager will build and manage the sales capabilities of all Kao Sales Consultants and to maximize profitability within the appointed district. This means ensuring that all sales objectives are being attained, providing excellent leadership to the Sales Consultants and working closely with Education in its initiatives.
Drive sales results to exceed targets within the district
Work with each Sales Consultant in the field (one-on-one) to assist in achieving performance excellence and be available to all Sales Consultants for immediate response during business hours when not in the field.
Analyze new business opportunities and achieve a yearly New Customer Acquisition target for district through joint business planning
Drive sales growth within existing customer through best in class service
Assist Sales Consultants in establishing regular meetings with key management of existing chains.
Establish face time with key accounts (owners/managers) whether on the road, with or without a Sales Consultant.
Analyze daily sales reports and measure against Salon Consultant productivity and performance.
Perform the standard responsibilities of a Kao Team Leader which includes but is not limited to:
performance training & development for each Salon Consultant
coordinating and conducting team meetings
coaching and counseling
Work with Education in planning and executing any Education events within the district while also ensuring successful ticket sales for same.
Determine and prepare the Annual Sales Budgets with Sales Management.
Assist in forecasting all promotions.
Monitor and control all discretionary spending within the district managed e.g. Car Stock, Training & Education, etc.)
5+ years sales experience with proven results preferably within industry
2+ years’ solid leadership experience with ability to plan, lead, organize and motivate others
Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office (Windows environment)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated experience in writing and effectively communicating business plans to high profile customers
Ability to coordinate a variety of priorities, work independently, motivate and influence others.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain professional business relationships
Excellent leadership skills and proven experience in managing, developing, coaching and motivating a high performance team
Strong business acumen, particularly in relation to the professional beauty/salon industry
Solid negotiation skills and techniques
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
