Overview

The Cosmetics Regulatory Affairs Scientist is responsible for the global cosmetic assessment of cosmetic products including the individual raw materials, the final formulation, the design of the packaging, the advertising claim substantiation and advertising materials.

The focus is on ensuring global regulatory compliance with legal cosmetics legislation (based on the latest national regulations).

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory guidance of the project team (R&D and Marketing) in terms of regulatory issues, including support in the substantiation/acceptance of advertising messages, verification of product identification and other regulatory recommendations
  • Creation and maintenance of EURL product dossiers (registration dossiers and product information file (PIF)) according to current legal requirements
  • Cooperate with other functions to establish country-specific launch strategies
  • Encourage close cooperation with other functions related to Business/Sales and Export
  • Respond on customer requests in regulatory matters
  • Provide arguments to defend regulatory compliance of formula and labelling
  • Follow global regulatory developments affecting EURL products and represent global Kao’s interest in association working groups (Collaborate with competitors or industry associations, e.g. IKW, Cosmetics Europe, where appropriate). Monitoring of newsletters and government websites and other methods, and communicate significant developments

Qualifications

  • Degree in natural sciences (preferably Food Chemistry) with a focus on regulatory affairs
  • Preferable: at least 3 years of experience in cosmetics regulatory affairs
  • Very good knowledge in German and English language (oral and written)
  • Open team player and skills in dealing with customers and authorities
  • Independent, reliable and above average dedicated work style
  • Excellent knowledge of MS-Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
