The Director, Human Capital Development (HCD) Business Partners is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the Kao workforce with the company's strategic goals in partnership with HCD Leadership.
In this role the Director will act as an expert Human Resources generalist responsible for the development and performance of the HCD department and for advising the Kao Management Team. The Director will lead HCD Business Partner in support of the business leaders.
Lead and manage all Workers Councils activities.
Lead, manage and develop HCD Business Partner team inclusive of performance management, career and succession management, coaching, developing, direction and support.
HCD Programs and Policies - partner with HCD Leadership & COE to develop HCD strategies and policies. Drive and deliver HR programs and policies. Ensure alignment with HCD Strategy. Drive and deliver programs and polices with HCD team.
Talent Acquisition - partner with HCD Leadership & COE to design and develop Talent Acquisition/Recruitment strategy. Partner with leader to identify critical positions and support in recruitment of identified positions.
Learning & Development - partner with HCD Leadership & COE to design and develop the Learning & Development Strategy while driving and delivering programs and policies with HCD BP team. Partner with leadership to identify training and development needs across business units.
Talent Management - partner with HCD Leadership & COE to design and develop the Talent Management strategy while driving and delivering programs and policies with HCD BP team. Partner with leadership to identify successors to key positions within client group structure; work with managers and employees to assess, discuss, and execute their plans for development.
Total Rewards - partner with HCD Leadership & COE to design and develop the Total Rewards strategy while driving and delivering programs and policies with HCD BP team.
Organisation Design and Effectiveness - partner with leadership in ongoing analysis of the organisational structure. Proactively assessing organisational structure and workforce analysis and providing recommendations to the business. Partner with client group leadership to ensure the most effective structures are in place in order to optimize the achievement of the desired business results.
Partner with EMEA HCD Leadership to ensure a holistic approach to HCD activities.
Responsible for DACH+ budget for HCD.
Will coach/guide/manager a team between 4 to 5 direct reports. Approximately 4 to 5 indirect.
University degree in human resources, business administration / MBA or equivalent
Human Resources qualification strongly preferred
Experience of 15-20 years in Human Resources
Experience in multinational organisations
Experience with Workers Council
Deep and broad understanding of employment law
Appropriate gravitas and executive presence
Ability to drive significant change while coaching and developing the teams as well as executing
Excellent analytical and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to fully integrate into the team
Collaborative and measured management style
Overall responsible for approximately 1000 – 1200 employees
Ability to travel across EMEA as needed
Language Requirements: English and German (both required)
