Brief Job Description:

The Senior Package Development Engineer is responsible for the completion of Package Development from conceptualization through installation and final shipment to consumer. All aspects of Package Development projects must be thoroughly documented, tested and engineered with specifications completed in a timely manner for future reference and modification.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualization: Working closely with the Marketing teams to provide package options based on cost requirements, formula and dispensing attributes, and meeting the needs of the package structure brief
  • Package realization: Taking the project phase from idea to prototyping. Completing design engineering, which include technical design review, failure mode and effects analysis, and the completion of all test plans. Making necessary changes to design and effectively communicating to all business partners
  • Implementation: Managing all of the tooling build and testing, making any necessary adjustments based on line trials being conducted. Writing the final specifications, which include defect classification identification, developing all pallet patterns, and completing the assembly instructions
  • Providing clear & effective guidance to Package Development Engineers and Technologists and communicate Kao Package Development direction and principles
  • Close collaboration with other departments like Formulation Development, Marketing, Customer Business, Strategic Procurement and Manufacturing
  • Preparing appropriate reports and presentations for audiences of all levels and geographies within Kao
  • Evaluation, selection and monitoring of a variety of suppliers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical, Chemical or Packaging Science
  • At least 5 to 7 years of experience in the areas mentioned above
  • Extensive experience with all aspects of analysis and measurement in the product supply function
  • Strong team-leading capabilities
  • Strong conceptual and analytical thinking required
  • Excellent influencing and communicational skills
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)
