This position is a dynamic and key role, critical in the development of strategy and execution of best in class education for all Nordic countries. The position is key to the partnership with Marketing and Sales Management. Managing (with Budget responsibility and accountability) and developing an education team that designs and delivers an exceptional level of education to the salon business, to increase the sales and brand distribution. Part of the leadership team reporting to the Nordic President, this position is a key partnership with Finance, HCD, Global Education team and General Manager. Working closely with Global for local execution of new education initiatives to maintain a high standard of education that engages our clients.
Responsible for the management of the regional Education managers and the Education Administration team.
To be the voice of Salon brands for Education in all of the Nordic countries and to drive commercial success through enhancing the reputation and skill levels of the Education Division
Regular attendee at Leadership meetings to give ‘the Hairdressers perspective’ and can think strategically and mold creative concepts into practical and winning Education solutions
To manage the Education budget competently, P&L and to forecast the education strategy aligned with sales and marketing. Be a Key partner for the Finance team. Budget then cascaded to each country education manager
To have overall management responsibility for the Nordic Education team, including the recruitment and management of regional Education managers of each country to ensure that the education offering is current, up to date and of a high quality level. Performance management and people development for the education and administration team. Be a key partner for HCD team.
Drive alignment of the Nordics Education team to the Global Salon Strategy through a structured training and development plan, aligned with Global and local needs. Constantly evaluating the education activity and feeding back to Global where needed.
To create and maintain a high quality level of education to ensure Education is in line with Global and local requirements, that truly delivers demonstrable business improvements (Sales, Costs and OI) - written and delivered in a language that hairdressers and sales representatives can understand and use. Oversees the training of new Educators to a high standard of technical competence
High standard of presentation skills to large audiences in some cases. Attends and presents where necessary, which include area or regional meetings to ensure major product launches have key messages communicated through Educators or by role holder. To cascade Education presentations and materials from the Goldwell Global Education team and ensuring translation is implemented.
Able to confidently host any company events e.g after darks, and can plan, set up, manage logistics on the day and facilitate impactful interaction between audience and Guest Artists/ Speakers. To be able to support any photo-shoots with technical color and styling expertise and creative direction when required. Oversee the Academies activities in the country.
Formal qualifications in training, education and hair/beauty
Minimum of 10 years working in industry and minimum 5 years in Education
An ambassador for Education, the role holder must be an accomplished educator with a reputation for delivering memorable high quality training and must form highly productive relationships with Industry ambassadors and opinion formers, guest artists and all levels of employees within a salon
Able to influence in the industry as well as within the Education team
Competent in MS Office
Able to financially plan and forecast with P&L Competency
Able to travel extensively across Nordic countries and also with international travel
Can communicate highly effectively -producing presentations and delivering to influence external clients to grow their business using salon products and internal employees to understand product USP’s and training concepts and packages.
Superb working and technical knowledge of all salon products across the full portfolio. Experienced in delivering and coaching others on retail selling training.
How to plan and run training sessions that inform and inspire different audiences with varying needs.
Able to organise workload to ensure all deadlines are met and is able to handle contingencies often at last minute.
How to cascade technical knowledge in the most effective ways possible that drive sales through competent and confident Educators, Sales Executives and Marketing team members.
High standard of presentation skills. Attends and presents where necessary, area or regional sales meetings to ensure major product launches have key messages communicated through Educators.
Coping with variety of salon cultures/personalities, influencing Global Education and raising profile of Nordic team.
