The purpose of the role is to be the responsible for the day to day running of the Academy as a world class, inspirational teaching venue whilst achieving the Academy’s performance targets.

This is a 10 - 12 month fixed term contract.


  • Managing The Academy and its remote/satellite locations to ensure that they reflect The Academy as a world class-centre for leading-edge Education
  • Responsible for Academy yearly targets and produce reporting on a monthly basis to the Head of Education, UK
  • Actively generating Academy business opportunities by selling courses to existing KAO Salon Division clients
  • Manages and updates the Salon Academy course tracker (manage agreed business as per Salon clients’ contract with KAO Salon Division)
  • The role holder acts as a key point of contact for outlining past, present and future Academy courses and events and is able to co-ordinate admin for regional/academy color experiences
  • Ensure the Academy provides a warm welcome and efficient, friendly service at all times
  • Managing Reception team (a Receptionist) as well as indirectly the Technical Coordinator
  • Managing the day to day functions of the activities, employees and guest artists
  • Vital role that leads to the smooth and profitable day-to-day running of the Academy to the highest standards; driving occupancy by whatever means including gaining support from Marketing and regular influencing communication with Sales and Education teams
  • Helps to support the reputation of The Academy as a world class centre for leading-edge Education
  • Overseeing all Reception activities
  • Able to cover occasional late nights assisting ‘signing-in’ of visitors and hosting at evening training events on a rota basis with other colleagues
  • Ensure the Academy meets world-class standards in presentation and cleanliness as well as ensuring maximum client satisfaction
  • Responsible for the upkeep of vending machines, kitchen equipment
  • Liaise with Seminar Coordinator to ensure all equipment is functional and in good repair
  • Manage deliveries and collection of goods on a day to day basis


  • Hairdressing Industry background/knowledge (i.e. Hairdresser, Salon Receptionist, Salon Manager) - 2 years
  • Managing of projects and people experience - 3 years
  • Experience in sales - 2 years
  • SAT (implementation of a system, Salon administrative tool), a project with Global but rolled out across EMEA (booking system, classes in field and Academy, end to end customer service tool, reporting tools, also interfaces with SAP)
  • Professional development skills training
