Supporting the VP Sales & Operations, theDirector, Retail Sales serves as a key business partner to develop and ensure delivery for the leadership, development and execution of UK Retail and Wholesale Strategy and Kao BBS2020 business goals.
The role will maximise the success of UK Retail Sales by influencing consumer experience through collaboration with the brand, client services and sales education, to achieve maximum profitability whilst controlling costs.
Business Development (strategy)
Identify medium and longer term business opportunities with a clear strategy and business plan for UK sales and profit growth through multi-channel retail network.
Playing a key part in shaping and delivering long term retail plan.
Business Development (retail initiatives)
Spearhead all major strategic retail initiatives within the UK to ensure effective planning, execution and ROI analysis, e.g. wholesale partnership development, new product launches, store portfolio and distribution management.
Sales Operations (budget & forecasting)
Total P&L accountability and annual budget planning and implementation.
Work with merchandising on a weekly and monthly basis on forward forecasting to ensure stock availability.
Working closely with the UK and Global brand teams to implement a storytelling brand strategy, through a renewed ‘customer experience’, which encompasses product, pricing, channel, sales, marketing communications, PR, customer service and education.
People and Team Development
Provide strong functional leadership; develop and motivate the retail and wholesale team to deliver results with confidence, consumer focus and collaboration.
Attract, build and retain exceptional retain talent who embody the Kao values.
People and Team Development
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the Leadership Team and Senior Management colleagues in MB HQ, Kao UK and AMEA, sister companies and Kao.
Of graduate calibre with strong educational background
Luxury retail portfolio experience required
Previous experience at a Senior Management level is essential
Strong working relationships with external business partners (Wholesale/Trade Partners)
A natural ability to understand luxury consumers and the emotional and functional drivers that shape luxury brand perception
Results driven with a proven record in delivering on challenging KPIs
Ability to apply strong commercial skills to meet sales and cost budgets
Strong leadership skills and ability to manage people across multiple locations
Business acumen awareness
Analytical and able to interpret and action sales information
