Commercial lead as Bricks and Clicks Online E-Commerce Manager within the Kao UK, Mass Business sector. Building tailored online customer plans, managing customer budgets to ensure strong ROI and forging retailer relationships across the John Frieda, Precision Foam Colour and Biore Brands the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Delivering vs. the online commercial KPIs, covering all accounts across grocery and high street channels
  • Market leading online execution, identifying creative ways to maximise sales and ROI
  • Best in class customer management and amazing relationships
  • Generating online insights and developing actions plans
  • Ensuring Kao’s Brands win at the point of purchase in the customer
  • Hardwire best in class commercial processes and capabilities
  • Enriching and improving the total UK Mass business

This is a fixed term 1 year contract.


  • Deliver and strive to exceed against budgeted Net Sales, Spend and Marginal Income of Kao’s Mass brands online ‘bricks and click’ channel
  • 100% success rate on online fundamentals e.g. maintaining images, descriptions and product copy
  • Lead the development and delivery of customer online Joint Business Plans, working closely with retailers to ensure delivery of mutual KPIs and joint value creation for the dot.com channel
  • Manage a set of commercial plans to understand the risks and opportunities by customer and effectively build contingency or stretch plans
  • Collaborate with our internal Marketing, Category and Trade Marketing teams to formulate customer specific brand online activation plans, tailored by retailer account
  • Utilise retailer initiatives and tools to maximise sales and drive strong ROI
  • Lead the development and maintenance of a best in class commercial relationship with all accounts that enables Kao to have a disproportionate influence with the customer and thus maximise business growth and opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with each retailer NAM within Kao to develop strong, aligned plans to offer customers a market leading journey between in store and online
  • Share learnings and results with key stakeholders
  • Build a rolling 3-5 year online strategy by retailer
  • Contribute positively to the total UK mass team via multifunctional project based work


  • BSc/BA Hons degree or equivalent – 2:1 or above
  • 2+ years’ experience in working in an e-commerce FMCG environment
  • Proven experience, results and passion for activating e-commerce sales driving initiatives
  • Experience in managing budgets and ROI accountability
  • Experience at working with multifunctional teams both internally and externally to deliver results
  • Health and Beauty Experience preferred but not essential
  • Strong Commercial Awareness and good Negotiation Skills
  • Strategic and executional understanding of online retailing

  • Demonstrated capability in financial analysis

  • Strong collaboration and teamwork are an essential part of this role

  • Strong communication skills across a number of key stakeholders

  • Relationship builder with impact and the ability to impact and influence across functions

  • Proven success in managing a number of projects to tight deadlines and managing multiple priorities

  • Enthusiastic with both their work and within the workplace
