To manage the category management responsibilities for the High-street (49% of the UK net sales), oversight of Grocery Category Manager,taking strategic lead in developing and implementing the differentiating visions and strategies for our categories within the key retailers in this channel, resulting in the delivery of preferred premium partner status for category management. This will focus on identifying opportunities to optimize the performance of current categories in which Kao operates.
This is a 12 month fixed term contract.
Developing and implementing a differentiating vision and strategies for our categories within the High-Street channel to influence the strategic and tactical choices of retailers.
Identifying category & shopper trends and translating these into actionable insight for Kao and customers.
Acting as the voice of Category within Kao UK through: a. attending UK Leadership Team Meetings as and when required b. sharing category management best practice with colleagues across EMEA and Kao USA; c. aligning on a shopper vision with colleagues across EMEA and Kao USA to drive synergies across markets.
Providing a longer-term picture of the market positioning of the category, what competitors are doing, what are the strength and weakness areas of competitors vs. the UK category and the implications from a commercial perspective.
Responsible for providing input and direction into strategy development, account plans and brand plans to ensure Kao wins within High-Street channel
Identifying the optimum tactics to enable Kao to win in the High-Street channel and embedding these within Kao and customers.
Key partner for marketing, sales and trade marketing in identification and definition of new opportunities within the High-Street channel.
Driving distribution growth in existing and new customers investigating and flagging opportunities for incremental listings.
Micro space and planogram optimisation to improve profit and sales productivity for the category
Responsible for identifying specific store placements for new product introductions.
Identifying optimum range line-up
Extracting, filtering, analysing and presenting market data to UK team and customers.
Excellent trade presentations that translate vision into first class actionable customer plans.
BSc/BA hons degree or equivalent
FMCG commercial experience. 5-7 Extensive
Trade Marketing or Category Management 3-4 Extensive
