Overview

Kao is in the middle of setting up a Finance Shared Service Centre (SSC) for the EMEA region. To further support the set-up and the continuous success of our FSSC in the Netherlands, we are looking for a Manager General Ledger Shared Service Centre.

The Manager General Ledger SSC will be leading a team of GL accountants and assist in transition of GL functions from local accounting teams to the SSC. Furthermore, the individual will be responsible for all month-end close activities and day to day accounting tasks for the entities managed in SSC.

You should have a deep understanding of all General Ledger processes and have the ability to identify problems in business processes and develop efficient solutions that have cross functional impact.

As Manager General Ledger you will be in charge of developing new and streamline existing processes and systems to ensure more efficient delivery of value that adds to both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, monitor, develop and execute month end, quarter end and year end procedures for all entities handled by General Ledger (GL) Team in Shared Service Centre (SCC);
  • Review, analyse and improve all Balance Sheet reconciliations that GL Team is handling;
  • Develop, improve and create necessary reporting tools for the GL Team;
  • Take responsibility for internal and external audits;
  • Analyse, develop and change existing processes and develop continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the most efficient completion of duties;
  • Takes full responsibility for consolidation of actuals in the corporate books;
  • As Manager GL SSC you will be setting up the team of GL accountants and you will be leading all SSC activities related to GL. This function will have a certain number of direct and indirect reports. The number of FTE's is not decided yet, however the estimation is between 10 to 15 Fte. You will be responsible for hiring and putting the team on-board constantly evaluating the progress against the predefined KPI's.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Accounting/Finance;
  • ACCA/CPA certification or similar certification is preferred;
  • Experienced in leading change and transformations projects;
  • Fluent in English and minimally one another EU language;
  • Strong Accounting background, 7+ years of experience in Accounting (preferably as financial accountant, senior accountant, accounting team leader) gathered in SSC environment;
  • Proven leadership skills, able to empower people and give trust.
