The Salon Sales Representative is responsible to servicing existing accounts and opening new accounts within an assigned territory to achieve established monthly territory sales, brand and promotional goals.
Service existing accounts and identify and open new accounts to maximize sales efforts.
Meet with clients regularly (in person and via the phone) to effectively promote the purchase, sell-through and support of Kao USA salon products, promotions and programs.
Attend and participate in sales meetings, business reviews and planning sessions on a regular basis.
Identify and establish rapport with top 25 competitor’s salon customers within assigned territory
Work with Marketing and Education Departments to ensure education events which include, but are not limited to classes, workshops, seminars and shows, VIP events, etc.
Make recommendations to improve Kao USA salon programs, business initiatives, and ways to improve efficiencies.
Complete all communication and assignments on time and submit all written reports as assigned to meet deadlines.
Ability to prioritize and organize duties/tasks, handle multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
2+ years outside sales experience required
Requires basic math, reading, spelling, grammar and writing skills with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate with business owners.
Must be detail oriented with the ability to complete orders in an accurate and thorough manner.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain professional business relationships.
Ability to identify sales opportunities, make presentations and close the sale.
Basic computer skills with working knowledge of MS Work and Excel.
Negotiation skills and techniques.
Professional and groomed appearance a must.
Valid driver’s license; access to properly registered and insured vehicle.
Duties performed are of a physical nature which requires using a computer for long periods of time as well as walking, standing, climbing, bending, talking, hearing and lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.
Periodic overnight travel is required to company events, training, and department meetingsvia car, air, rail and mass transit.
Local travel to facilitate customer meetings estimated to be 80-90%.
