Coordinate with cross-functional partners to understand the underlying goals and business needs behind study requests and determine feasibility to implement in support of consumer understanding, technology development, formulation development and claims defense. Oversee junior staff in development of study design and results understanding, with a focus on teaching. Identify, prioritize, assign and/or lead scientific depth projects and provide guidance to junior staff members. Identify and address process and other types of outages.
Provide staff development, both formal and informal, to include training on core study design expertise and identification of priority scientific depth areas of study.
Recognize process outages and lead in solution development and implementation.
Lead scientific depth projects either internally or with external partners such as the Skin Care Technology Development Group and serve as a principal adviser and/or trainer for junior staff members.
Provide study design feedback to junior staff members to include a focus on training opportunities for staff including identification and explanation of divergent scientific and business needs and constraints, as appropriate.
Build either scientific expertise in relevant fields and topics or broad, up-to-date business project knowledge.
Lead development of study design and implementation of complex and/or high visibility clinical studies.
Bachelor's degree in a science requiring experimental design and implementation, such as chemistry, biology, physics or psychology. Master's degrees in corresponding studies also a plus.
10+ years of hands-on expertise in design and interpretation of clinical skin and hair physiology studies.
Prior experience in daily clinical facility administration preferred. Experience in providing leadership to a team in the areas of motivation and mentoring.
Expertise in clinical study design and all aspects of implementation.
In-depth knowledge of skin and hair clinical testing instrumentation and methodology.
Expertise in development and implementation of scientific and methods development projects in a logical, well-thought manner.
Clear and concise communication with a variety of cross-functional partners.
Flexibility to make quick adaptations to rapidly changing needs.
Ability to recognize organizational process outages and develop solutions.
