This position pro-actively partners with Sales, Marketing, Education and Sr. Management to understand and improve the Kao US Salon Division’s performance. This position is pro-actively involved in both understanding actual results and influencing decision-making in the future. Responsibilities and projects range from simple to complex and require the use of analytical modeling and business problem solving skills.


  • Facilitates the planning and direction of the Company’s financial analysis activities such as budget variance analysis, capital budgeting and month-end reporting.
  • Works with various departments in developing the Kao America Salon Division annual corporate budget and monitors monthly variances to the corporate Budget and Latest Estimate on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis to department heads, senior management and corporate headquarters.
  • Prepares periodic and ad-hoc financial reports and analysis to Finance, Marketing, Sales and President’s office on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and as requested.
  • Develops margin analysis and forecasts for Budget and Latest Estimate requirements. Works with Marketing and Sales to review and analyze margin analysis.
  • Develops reports and analysis for internal needs and for all Kao America Salon Division reporting requirements.
  • Acts as an information liaison between Sales, Marketing and Education departments and Finance for Customer Programs and pricing issues.
  • Prepares special reports to analyze financial transactions and analysis
  • Supervises the associated staff’s day-to-day activities, projects/assignments and provides training and coaching as necessary.


Senior Financial Analyst must demonstrate advanced analytical skills, typically acquired through at least five years of related experience in a similar CPG environment. Additionally, the Sr. Financial Analyst must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree strongly preferred).
  • The ability to work in a cross-functional and diverse team environment to drive fiscally sound business results.
  • The skills to effectively communicate to all levels and functions within the organization, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to command an audience of over 10 and facilitate small group discussions.
  • Progressive experience in financial analysis, management reporting, and strategic performance management required.
  • Experience with financial systems, analytical tools, and implementation of business performance management tools are also required.
  • Must have a general understanding of IFRS requirements.
  • Possess advanced Excel skills with basic skills in PowerPoint & Microsoft Word.
  • Experience in SAP/BI/BPC is preferred.
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints and have the ability to multi-task.
  • Operational finance experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Proven success working in a rapidly changing environment as well as proven skills in addressing senior levels of an organization in strategy, priorities and business options.
  • Considerable independent judgment and initiative are required.
