The Total Rewards Leader will ensure Total Rewards programs for the Beauty Care business and other US-based Kao Group companies are market competitive, cost efficient, operationally compliant, administratively efficient and effective.
The role designs and develops Total Rewards vision, strategy, process and systems, in partnership with HCD leadership with input and feedback from leaders across the business.
In addition, the role will:
Generate insights on specific Total Rewards topics and proactively identifies best and future practices and trends
Align Total Rewards programs with the needs of the business to attract, develop, retain and reward top tier talent for the Kao corporation.
Manage Total Reward function inclusive of Shared Services, Benefits, Payroll, HRIS and Compensation
Build an innovative and scalable total rewards department through efficient use of tools and resources.
Own and maintain Total Rewards policies.
Global Mobility / International Assignment program management.
Frequent coordination with the Kao Leadership team.
Partner with Kao Corporate and Human Capital Development Compensation & Benefits in Tokyo
Designing best practice, innovative rewards structures and programs that meet the needs of all businesses.
Communicating the rewards in a creative way.
Determining actions to modify employees’ behaviors to proactively keep health care costs low.
Determining analytics needed to provide to Senior Management to aid in making strategic business decisions regarding the financial impact of talent reward and retention.
Dealing with issues that arise from developing Total Rewards solutions to meet differing needs of various businesses across multiple channels and countries; with conflicting opinions regarding which programs/packages to offer; long term strategic vision, costs, vendors or communication plans.
Developing solutions for any issues with compliance or efficiency; assisting customers with dissatisfaction or difficulties regarding Total rewards; solving problems with vendors.
Maintaining costs to the business(es) while continuing to remain competitive with Total rewards offerings.
Ensuring compliance globally as well as effective Total Rewards design and communication when dealing with various markets, channels, company cultures, and languages.
Align programs based on the internal needs of the business and the Kao Corporate HCD programs and initiatives.
Answers questions from customers at all levels.
Determines education needed by the business.
Partners with Leaders, HRMs and Line Managers on communication related to Total Rewards to employees.
Partners/collaborates with business leaders and HRMs when rolling out new Total Rewards programs.
Manages Total Rewards vendor relationships and services.
May be involved in negotiating contracts with vendors.
Ensures the appropriate technology and tools are in place to meet department and customer needs.
10 years’ prior experience in Total Rewards management.
10 years’ general business acumen, hands-on financial, accounting and audit experience, and understanding of the HR Business Partner perspective.
