The Assistant Controller will report to the Controller, and will work closely with the Controller and the Finance team to provide reporting and support for Finance and all business units of Kao Collins, Inc, ensuring accurate financial reporting throughout the organization by working closely with various departments and management.
S/he will assist and support the Controller in the achievement of the Company’s goals and the leadership of the Accounting function. S/he will ensure that operational and financial data is effectively and efficiently created, organized, communicated and delivered in a timely and accurate fashion.
Overall Responsibilities Include:
Assisting management with the financial information required to support critical business decisions.
Forming direction and communicating clear expectations for the Accounting team, in conjunction with the Controller.
Understanding the accounting, regulatory, and business developments which impact the Company’s financial reporting.
Help with maintaining financial policies and procedures to ensure proper accounting standards and controls.
Contributing to the monthly reporting package.
Detailed Responsibilities Include:
Assist in establishing financial policies and procedures to ensure proper accounting standards and controls.
Help accounting team with general ledger activities related to the Company’s monthly, quarterly and annual accounting financial statements.
Detailed review of legal entity financial statements to meet reporting requirements.
Working closely with the Controller to define reporting requirements, evaluate technology alternatives to meet those requirements, and implement solutions.
Acting as the liaison with the external auditors.
Working with the Controller to ensure a clean, efficient and timely year-end audit.
Performing and/or assisting in other projects as required.
A Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required.
Advanced credentials (CPA, CA, CGA or CMA) is a plus but not required.
Cost Accounting experience is a plus.
Minimum of seven to ten years of progressive experience in financial reporting is required.
Proven ability to lead and supervise effectively.
Proven ability to interface with peers and management of the company.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
A high degree of energy coupled with the flexibility.
