Assistant Controller

WSI is the leading provider of innovative products and services to the commercial laundry processing industry.

The Assistant Controller will be responsible for various general accounting functions including financial reporting and analysis, journal entries, account reconciliations, SAP/Great Plains – Business, Planning, & Consolidation (BPC) report generation, communications with other business units both domestic and international, process improvements, and other general accounting functions as required.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in monthly/quarterly/year-end accounting close & consolidation.
  • Prepares and parks various journal entries in SAP/Great Plains.
  • Verifies financial reports in BPC.
  • Prepares and analyzes account reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
  • Completes bank reconciliations.
  • Generates financial reporting in SAP/Great Plains.
  • Provides financial analysis and/or various support schedules.
  • Processes intercompany billings with affiliates.
  • Researches and resolves business unit inquiries and financial questions.
  • Maintains Fixed Asset system and related analysis.
  • Tracks capital spending/reporting.
  • Prepares and maintains Capital Budget including Depreciation.
  • Performs annual fixed asset inventory audits.
  • Executes process improvements as needed.
  • Updates JSOX internal controls/accounting policies and procedures.
  • Provides support to Kao Corp, Kao affiliates for various data requests.
  • Supports internal/external audit staff with research and data requests.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Finance/Accounting Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 1 – 2 years of Accounting or Finance related experience.
  • Proficient use with MS Office suite applications and SAP/Great Plains.

Preferred:

  • Consumer products/consumer packaged goods, manufacturing, retail, and/or chemical experience.
  • 1 – 3 years of tax accounting, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • CPA/MBA certification or degree.
