Copywriter

Overview

Reporting to the Editor, you will be responsible for writing on-brand copy for global marketing materials, including copy for brochures, press releases, event invitations and adverts. This role will also require supporting the Editor in the creation of copy for our secondary campaigns as well as proof reading copy supplied by both internal stakeholders and third party partners to ensure that it adheres to house style. The successful candidate will have excellent writing and sub-editing skills, and ideally be educated to Degree level. Preferred degrees include English Literature or Journalism.

Responsibilities

  • Working alongside the Editor, produce headline and supporting copy for instore POS for our secondary campaigns, ensuring that they answer the commercial brief while also building a strong narrative story which reflects the luxury positioning of the brand
  • Produce copy for marketing materials which is on-brand and adheres to all copy guidelines
  • Proof read copy supplied by internal stakeholders as well as third party partners to ensure that it reflects the luxury positioning of the brand and adheres to all copy guidelines. Feed back changes in a way that clearly explains the amends made
  • Work with the Editor to maintain all copy guidelines so that they remain relevant and accurate

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Similar experience of at least 2-3 years, working with a luxury retail brand (preferably in the beauty sector) writing marketing copy and other relevant support materials
  • A brilliant wordsmith who has experience of working for a similar luxury beauty brand, writing campaign headlines and marketing copy
  • Demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the beauty sector and the influence of words on their commercial success
  • Meticulous attention to detail with an exemplary knowledge of grammar
  • Excellent communications skills with proven experience of presenting work and the thought process behind it to a senior level
  • Proven experience of editing and constructively giving feedback on copy supplied by both internal and external teams
  • Experience of managing a heavy and varied workload, being self-sufficient and organised in order to deliver to deadline
  • A brand guardian who has been the gate keeper for copy in a previous role and has experience of writing and maintaining copy guidelines
