Education and Events Coordinator

Overview

The Education & Events Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the implementation and ongoing support of all education programs and events. Primary functions include workshop and national event coordination, assisting creative team and ongoing strategizing to remain innovative in our education offerings, as the premiere luxury hair care brand.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Schedule in-salon education classes and manage calendars for education team, including travel bookings and itineraries, communicating directly with the salon and doing pre-and post-calls with educators and sales
  • Make outbound calls to salon clients to sell education offerings
  • Responsible for planning and execution of all educational workshops, including registration and on-site management at select workshops in New York and regionally
  • Lead large cluster classes which include: venue scouting and confirmation, contract reviewing, vendor confirmation, acting as the main liaison between venue and vendors, pre-event communication to guests, and shipment coordination
  • Responsible for pre and post-event management including: budget tracking & reconciliation, survey compilation, and photo distribution to clients and models)
  • Provide on-site support at photoshoots and video shoots, including setup, product orders, and model management
  • Coordinate and provide on-site support at large-scale regional events, including setup, management of creative team, talent and vendor booking
  • Responsible for creating and uploading all workshops, classes, and special events on web backend and pushing live for clients
  • Manage model recruitment process for all workshops and events, and maintain positive relationships with artist and model agents
  • Direct liaison between creative team and salon clients
  • Plan and support all internal educator trainings
  • Maintain strong relationships with educators
  • Aid in the development and promotion of education curriculum
  • Create presentations for in-salon classes, workshops, and regional events
  • Communicate directly with high-profile salon owners and hairstylists on a regular basis
  • Backstage management at select Fashion Week shows in New York

SPECIAL EVENT DETAILS

  • On-Site Event Setup: approx. 8 hours on weekends
  • Event Timing: call time typically 7-8am, events end between 4-6pm (with breakdown following)
  • Fashion Week shows fall on federal holidays, weekends and after-hours.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 1-2 years' experience in a professional office environment
  • Knowledge of salon / beauty industry a plus
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and relationship skills
  • Professional demeanor
  • Strong written skills
  • Great phone etiquette and customer service
  • Computer Proficient: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and general comfort with new programs. Mac proficiency and familiarity with Keynote. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
