Field Education Manager


The Field Education Manager will grow and maintain Kao salon partnerships through strategy and execution of all education activities for the Goldwell and KMS product assortment within an assigned territory (or other area as requested by Management) by partnering with Salon Sales, free lance educators and KMS Trainers.

The assigned territory is British Columbia.

The role will directly manage one District Educator and several free lance educators.


Field Education Activity

  • Conduct in salon education programs as required focusing on Prospect and Top Ten Salons
  • Plan annual education activities for assigned region
  • Work with DSM & DSCs to develop and deliver Joint Business plans for top accounts
  • Be available for education support in regions outside of your assigned region as indicated by Associate Director of Education
  • Work with KRC to support New Market Leader Salon acquisition

Support to Sales Team:

  • Taking initiative in decision making regarding education programs in respective territories
  • Educate Sales Team on new product initiatives
  • Perform cold calls on high potential non-KAO salons independently or with Salon Consultant
  • Identify and communicate potential sales opportunities within the assigned territory (and outside should they arise)

Freelance Educator Support:

  • Recruitment and certification of all new GTAs and KMS Trainers for the territory
  • Conduct annual update trainings with existing freelance team in assigned territory
  • Approve and assign all freelance educator activity in assigned region
  • Support the Salon Mentor program through identifying candidates and coaching them post training
  • Keep National database current by communicating any changed to the team to Education Administrative Assistant


  • Active Certificate, Qualification/Hairstyling license (must have had for a minimum of 5 years)
  • 5 years hairstyling experience (exposure to full range of service e.g. cutting, styling, coloring, perming, etc.)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience as an educator
  • Previous management experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office (Windows environment)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills demonstrating good grammar
  • Excellent "platform" (presentation) skills with ability to answer questions with confidence and ease
  • Strong Interpersonal (people relations) skills
  • Effective diplomacy practices at all times
  • Long durations of standing during training delivery. Long periods of sitting required during extensive travel within territory
  • When in the home-based office, activity is limited to those of other office positions
  • Must be able to lift/move supplies/materials a minimum of 30 lbs
  • Strong organizational skills i.e. must be able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • High flexibility and ability to manage rapid change effectively
