Junior Packaging Designer


Reporting to the Packaging Designer, this role is responsible for visualisation and realisation of packaging for the Molton Brown brand. They manage their projects from the brief, through the creation of visuals and presenting these to relevant stakeholders, to attending project meetings where they feed in to the production process; to liaising with suppliers and attending press passes and overseeing final artwork. This role is an excellent opportunity for a junior packaging designer to develop their skills within the exciting world of a luxury brand. This role ideally requires someone with some professional experience in packaging with a portfolio that demonstrates creative thinking and excellent visualisation skills specifically in packaging design. Confidence to manage workload and strong communication skills are a must and a demonstrable passion for packaging and beauty will differentiate from other candidates. We are looking for someone who is inquisitive and eager to learn, and who demonstrates a natural interest in design and creativity.

  • Delivering creative solutions to packaging briefs which reflect the luxury position of the brand and which are supported by high quality visuals.
  • Working closely with the Packaging Designer as well as Category Management, Project Management, Technical Packaging and Purchasing on the development of all briefs to ensure that all technical, budget and time requirements are met throughout the realisation process. This involves attending key development meetings and ensuring that all milestones for creative are met.
  • Attending press passes as required to ensure that all colour, print and quality standards are met so that the final product meets the exacting standards for which we are known. This will involve national and international travel.
  • Approving packaging artwork created by the production team to ensure that it meets the creative specifications and adheres to the packaging requirements document as supplied by the Regulatory team.


  • Degree in packaging, graphic or product design or related qualification.
  • Experience of producing high quality packaging solutions, ideally for a luxury/beauty brand. Experience of press passing is preferable but not essential but they must have an exemplary eye for colour.
  • Excellent visualisation and presentation skills are a requirement as is knowledge of artworking for packaging.
  • Meticulous attention to detail both creatively and practically.
  • An understanding of printing, repro and photographic processes.
  • Used to managing a their own workload with the ability to adjust priorities quickly and efficiently in line with business requirements.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop with any knowledge of the rest of Creative suite being a bonus. This should be demonstrable through visuals presented in their portfolio.
  • Be articulate and confident in presenting creative at all levels of the business as well audiences of all sizes.
  • Strong typographic knowledge.
