Quality Control Assistant

Overview

The purpose of this role is to carry out routine quality inspection of delivered components and follow up actions if any deviations from the specifications are found. This role also involves checking production samples sent by subcontractors and inspect regularly finished items in the external warehouse.

Working with the Production/warehouse team to ensure that all delivered components are inspected against the agreed standard before used by production.

This role is a 1 year fixed term contract (maternity cover)

Responsibilities

  • Sample and test delivered raw materials. Log the results, check and file the certificate of analysis
  • Deal with raw material related queries from production
  • Liaise with suppliers if delivered raw materials are found out of specification. Issue a SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request) when necessary
  • Check production samples sent by subcontractors and follow up if any deviations found.
  • Deal with queries from subcontractors if related to components.

  • Regular visit to the external warehouse to inspect finished goods.

  • Cover other Quality Control members absence as required.

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate should have awareness of GMP requirement and quality control processes
  • Educated to A level at C grade or above in Maths, English and Science or equivalent
  • Candidate must be able to work to tight deadlines and have excellent attention to detail
  • Microsoft packages, Word, Excel and SAP experience would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience in Quality: 1-2 years minimum

  • Previous experience in a food, pharmaceutical or cosmetic/toiletry manufacturer: 1-2 years minimum

  • Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with a wide range of people (manager/supervisor, operators, subcontractors, etc)

  • Good time management and organizational skills with the ability to handle a number of tasks at once and meeting deadlines as required

  • Good attention to detail

  • Ability to priorities their work and have a flexible approach to deal with unexpected events
