Supply Planner

Overview

This position is responsible for finished good planning and/or raw material planning at Contract Manufacturers. Additionally, this position determines appropriate stock levels to maintain at distribution centers to meet service level and inventory objectives, and executes day to day stock transfer replenishment orders or procurements with material vendors as needed. The primary objective of the position is to optimize inventory, ensuring highest customer order fill rate, while minimizing obsolete and slow moving stock.

Responsibilities

  • Develop daily, weekly, or monthly ordering plans for external vendors by reviewing forecast streams, demands for promotions, and inventory positions at the material level. Balance schedules against vendor capability and continuously optimize to support KPTs (Key Performance Targets). Consider MOQs (minimum order requirements), lead times, cost effectiveness, batch splits, seasonality, and relevant product or distribution changes within decision-making.
  • Determine appropriate materials and quantities to deploy to regional distribution centers within the US and Canada. Review sales history and update safety stock, min/max levels, or other relevant SAP master data to yield appropriate triggers.
  • Collaborate with 3PLs (3rd Party Logistics), 3PMs (3rd Party Manufacturers), accessory or packaging vendors, and other internal/external partners to monitor purchase order status, advise priorities, and ensure on time deliveries.
  • Proactively identify potential stock issues and communicate to cross functional groups to support effective prioritization and decision making in customer order fulfillment. Identify potential slow-moving or obsolete inventory and communicate/drive disposition decisions. Prevent and/or minimize obsolete inventory by facilitating cross-functional discussions when appropriate.
  • Track performance against Key Performance Targets (KPTs) and other objectives. This includes creating, updating, and distributing reports from SAP, Excel, BI, Word and PowerPoint. Develop action plans to minimize variances to targets.
  • Support Supply Chain special projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations or Supply Chain Management preferred
  • Experience in Supply Chain or Operations utilizing an ERP/MRP system preferred
  • Service oriented and customer focused; collaborative partnerships
